I'm torn between 3-4 stars. In terms of looks go, its a elegant product. It appears its somewhere between Ultra and Mid-century modern. Large as others have stated is not a bright Apple store white, but in fact more of an off, vanilla. With that in mind this futon is 4 feet away from a stark white colored desk but neither piece looks homeless, also incandescent lighting will cast a reasonable warm light about the room that they can almost end up being the same color. From your assembly standpoint I'd say its a 3 or even a 4 dependant on when the time comes to flip it right side up.
